BAUER PUBLISHING ANNOUNCES PIB AD PAGE GAINS |
||
| NEW YORK, NY (May 19, 2008) –Bauer Publishing Group announced today that they have increased advertising pages by 5.6% in the first four months of 2008, making Bauer the only major multi-title publishing company to show advertising increases year-on-year. According to recently released figures, Bauer’s seven PIB measured magazines generated a total of 1,145.36 advertising pages in January-April 2008 compared to 1,084.50 for the same period last year, an increase of +5.6%. Particularly strong growth at In Touch Weekly (+13.7%), First (+9.6%) and M Magazine (+14.4%) helped to drive the overall increase in the company’s paging. Bauer’s ad page performance is particularly striking given the PIB results from other major publishing companies, which all showed decreases in ad paging. Overall, total ad paging for the January-April 2008 period among all PIB measured magazines was down -6.8% versus last year. “As a company, we’re bucking the trend,” said Ian Scott, President of Bauer Advertising Sales, Inc. “Advertisers are recognizing that our newsstand based publishing model consistently delivers active, engaged readers and have supported our publications with increased advertising investment.” As the industry leader in newsstand sales, Bauer generates 91% of circulation through single copy sales. Bauer uses no verified circulation—every copy of a Bauer magazine is bought and paid for by consumers—nor does it heavily discount subscriptions About Bauer Publishing Bauer Publishing is the number-one seller of magazines on the newsstand. Bauer magazines connect with a nationwide audience of active, engaged newsstand consumers at every life stage - from tweens and teens (M, J-14, Twist, Quizfest, Astrogirl, Life Story) to young women (In Touch Weekly, Life & Style Weekly) to baby boomers and beyond (Woman's World, First For Women, Soaps In Depth). # # # For more information please contact: Lisa Dallos Freud Communications (212) 582.9795 lisa.dallos@freud.com Julia Walker Freud Communications (212) 582.0495 julia.walker@freud.com |
